This crazy thing I like to call... LIFE.

Life is busy, y'all. But I miss this blog...
so.. I must come back.

There are so many memories that have been made lately. Weddings, babies, family time, shopping, baking.. you name it and we've done it. I think it would only be appropriate to do a collage of memories/pictures that I've taken lately.

God has blessed me with many different opportunities in my life. So many of these pictures make me super happy to see what HE has done! Shooting guns, buying pottery at the McCarty sale and Spring Break memories are my favorite. I'm a lucky girl!

See that cute bulletin board up there with burlap? It was $10 at a thrift store. Oh, I can't wait to see it in my classroom tomorrow morning! Be looking for it on Instagram soon.
This past week was Spring Break and I had SO much fun! It dawned on me today that I didn't take but a couple of hours to rest on this SB but at least I made lots of memories with people I love.

One of my favorite memories of SB this year was the day that I baked a coconut cake with my Mom(grandmother). Bre and I went and spent the afternoon with her and secretly I think she LOVED it. The cake wasn't bad either, I'm not a huge fan of coconut though!

I can't wait to get back to recording my life on here but until then... Hope y'all have a great week.

So, people. Today I want to tell you a little bit about my obsession...

Are you ready? THRIFT SHOPPING! I love it with a passion. I love a good thrift store, yard-sale, and recently these re-sale pages on the Facebook. It's an obsession for real. I love finding a good deal or a piece of "someone's junk" and making it into something that I love.

Teaching is my profession but shopping is definitely my second job. Let me tell you, that first one doesn't support the 2nd. I need HELP! But anyway, I was just sitting here stressing about Grad School and thinking that I needed a break from work so this blog made it's way to my fingertips. I'm going to share some of my favorite thrifty works from the past few months and share them.

One of my childhood, (think pre-school) friends commented on an instagram picture of mine and said I should have my own show called "Lauren's Art of Thrifting" so that's where this came about. I now have my hashtag #laurensartofthrifting

This was my latest Goodwill purchase for $2.99. It's an old "Cars" toy rack and I took it and made into a shoe rack for my tiny closet. I was sick of shoes everywhere and this helped so much! I had two little kids fighting me for it in the checkout line though!

Bre and I went antique junkin' and found this old pie safe! I want one of these like nobody's business but I just couldn't pay $100 for this one that was utterly falling apart. If you have one or know of someone who has one, let me know!

Excuse Leonardo! This chair was found at Goodwill and I took it home and my daddy helped me "spruce it up". I love it! By the end of this school year though, I'm sure another coat of spray paint will be needed. This is one of my favorite finds.

Ole Granny Ms. Patton's outfit came from Goodwill. You know, I secretly don't rock that mumu on the regular. Ha! I think being an old person looks good on me! :)

Not thrifted but oh. so. true!

What do y'all think of thrift shopping? I know it's not for everyone but at least go ONCE and see for yourself! You never know what you'll find!

Hellooo sweet friends of Lauren. I'm so excited she asked me to come blog sit for her while she's on vacation!
I'm Rachel and I blog over at http://rachelsfrontrowseat.blogspot.com/

I would love for you to stop by and say hey. I'm also participating in a pretty epic giveaway right now (think Keurig & Kindle!), so come check out the details.

If there's one thing we know and love about Lauren, it's that she's a major bargainista.

Allow me to present the evidence.

It's a complete battle of the wills when I walk into a thrift type shop because I would love to be able to save a ton of money and get a good deal, but I also want to have everything sitting in nice, neat, pretty rows with little outfits already paired for my fashion impaired self. This obviously doesn't bother Lauren. She will find the bargains and hunt them down.

Speaking of hunting bargains, have you been to Bargain Hunt? They're popping up all over the south, and I'm pretty exciting about my 1 measly deal I scored recently.

Why yes, I may have had a Vicki reaction when I first saw these Michael Kors boots for $25!!
Granted, it's been about 100 degrees every day around these parts, but I need something to look forward to in the winter. :)

We miss you Lauren and hope you're having a fab time!

Rachel, Thank you so much for being such a great friend and guest posting for me! I'm loving the beach and having a great time. So thankful for what thrifting has allowed me to do so far in life and I hope you find your love for it soon!
