Simple Things

Thursday, June 30, 2011

Life is made up of things that are uplifting and things that bring us down. God makes this world go around and he knows exactly what is happening. :)

{Simple things that I enjoy:}

Going to eat with the brother and his girlfriend.

Knowing  what my mama is thinking without her saying a word.

Yard Sales and Craigslist

Reminiscing with stories from our younger years. One of my favorite things to do.

A smile from a stranger.

On another note...

She's the one on the left. :)
I'm broken tonight- The sweetest assistant that I ever worked with, Ms. Jo Lewis, found out today that she has Stage 4 Liver Cancer. Not only is she young, but she also has a precious baby girl.
Ms. Jo always had a smile on her face and we loved talking about shopping, her going back to school, and all the life experiences that she had. She has so many people praying for her and I just know that God CAN heal her.

Please, if you believe, send us prayers for her. She deserves every one of them.

Life is simple. It's the simple things in life that are fun, and mean something. The news about her has shown me that life is precious and we should be thankful for everyday that we live.

There is nothing better than sleeping till 10:00 on accident. Thank you Lord that I can sleep late!

{two}
Packing for Yard Sale on Saturday!
Yard sales are probably one of my favorite things to do. Hopefully the cash will make it even better.
If you live near me and would like to know details, just leave me a comment. :)

{three}
Air Conditioning.
It is just entirely too hot in Mississippi.

My new Shutterfly Personalized Notebook that Bre Anna had made for me. :)

Growing up!

It's official...
 I'm getting old!

I had orientation today and I was up at 5:30. Geez. That hasn't happened in a while. It wasn't fun. I luckily got up, got ready, and arrive to orientation on time. :) It was a hurry up and WAIT kind of day. That's life, and now I am one step closer to being fully prepared to be a 1st year teacher.

Old School.

After my orientation I went and got my 3rd iPhone. Problems and I just love my phone too much to leave them like they are. You know, if you have never been to an Apple store, you are missing out. They are just too much fun. I could stay in there all day.
Thanks Apple.

and...
We went out Saturday night to Don Julio's to celebrate Merle's birthday. We laughed and had the best time. There is really nothing like spending time with your girlfriends and I am soaking it up because I know in a few short weeks that I will only see them on my weekends home. :(

Merle,
I am so glad that God decided to put my best friend at the time and you together in a lovely dorm room in Sheffield hall our freshman year. If he hadn't knit this plan together in his hands, then we would have never became friends. I will never forget the impact that you have made on my life and I know that everything you have you have worked hard for. I've seen you at your best and at your worst and I know that God has a HUGE plan for your life. Happy Late Birthday and yes... I will be your paula-bearer. :)
love,
Lou-Lou.

love the atmosphere.
such a great cake! :)

The best and I.

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

So much going on. But... I have to blog for my sanity. :)

one.
I sometimes hate the fact that my Daddy works for the public. You can't really ever make plans because something could go wrong and it's his job to help them. I'm totally thankful that he is able to do this, just stinks sometimes.

two.
I'm hopefully going to be doing a lot of this..

and..
(changing banks)

Today!

three.
I'm working on my "Miss Lauren's Classroom" blog and I'll share with you as soon as it's up. I still can't believe I will be teaching 1st grade in a little over a month.

*pretty sure this was around 1st grade. :)

four.
If you have any crafty ideas or suggestions on how to make curtains for my apartment without sewing, I would love some help. I just wish I could sew!

Happy Monday!

Blanks Friday.

Friday, June 24, 2011

1.   The last thing I ate was      South Depot- New taco place on the square in Oxford. Check.It.Out. Quality time with the brother and his girl.
2.  The next thing I'd like to eat is    some grapes. too bad I don't have any. Whatever I can scrap up for lunch.

3.  The best things    are what make us happy. Seriously, if eating mexican makes you happy, do it. If laughing makes you happy, laugh all over. If babies make you happy, play with them. ha! (is that what you were expecting!) Actually, most of these things make ME happy!
babysitting on my mission trip to Montana! :)

4.  Something that makes me supremely and utterly happy is  totally didn't see this questions before I wrote the last. Um.. Family time. I love being able to spend time with my family and making memories that will last as long as I am alive. Planning for my future is my next thing. Now, On to the future...

5.  Sports are    so much fun! I love SEC football and baseball. That's about all that I get into though! :)

6.  I miss      having a job and having my own money.  I'm a pretty independent person and I like doing what I want, when I want. Student teaching was amazing but also a very BROKE time in my life! :) Preparing me for the rest of my life as a teacher, I guess...

7.  Right now I am      wondering what the weekend is going to hold? I've got plans.. now to finalize them. :)

Does anyone else use a planner like crazy?? I do!!

Happy Friday! :)

--getting mail. I absolutely love getting emails, snail-mail, or just a simple note.
if you want to send me something, email me. ha!

--thrift shopping. it's so much fun.

--pinterest. seriously, I have a blast on there!

Hope you have a SIMPLE and sweet Thursday! :)

and just because I love this picture! :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday.

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

Happy Wednesday, Friends!

I'm loving...

C.M. Scott Center
1.) getting to observe, love on some precious kids during my summer.  I got the highest compliment today when I was working with a child who was throwing a tantrum and my teacher said," I am not going to interfere because you know what you are doing." She all but told me that I was doing everything exactly right, which I find hard to believe, but she made me feel good anyway!

2.) Some graduation pictures that Bre took for me. :)

 My wonderful, supportive parental unit!
Bre Anna. Why do I look sick? ha.
Emily. We did it! :)
Hotty Toddy!

3.) Knowing that I am going to have enough furniture in my new place!
btw: here are a few pictures. just remember these came from the website. You'll be seeing my decor SOON!

I'm so excited to make it my own!
suggestions are welcomed.-- I would love some advice and opinions.

4.) The blessings that Jesus had decided to give me. Why? I will never understand, but he loves me without conditions. For that I will always LOVE and appreciate. God knows exactly how to bless us and why he does it. He knows that we could never pay him back but yet he does it anyway. Geez.. I will never understand! I'm so very thankful though!

Wednesday-- I feel the love!

Famous.

Look what Ole Miss decided to put on their photo website! :)

I'm not sure why the photographer on Graduation day decided to take so many pics of my friends and I but I am forever greatful that he did. :)

Hope you enjoy.

Hotty Toddy.

*still can't believe I am a college graduate.

These are my confessions...

I confess... I always have a feeling that I need to read my Bible more. I need to get on that.

I confess... I often get jealous of people's lives when I read certain blogs/facebook/twitter posts.

I confess... I want to be a mommy more than anything in this world.

I confess... I love thinking up delicious recipes to cook, but hate the idea of actually having to cook it. :)

I confess...I was looking back today on my college school work. I half hearted most of it. Oh well. I graduated. Now, just don't do that in my classroom. I'm gonna give it all, peeps! :)

Last night was spent with the best, eating mexican, watching "Never Say Never" and
staying up late. :)

I honestly can't believe I watched the Bieber movie but I must say, it was pretty inspirational.  That bieber boy seems like a very caring guy!

Hope you are having a great Tuesday!

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

one
My Best, Caitlyn is coming to Oxford tonight. Yay!!
We are soaking up our time being in the same town! :)

sorry for the quality. Facebook wouldn't cooperate! :(

two
I'm spending way too much money on necessary stuff for my new place. It's fun but makes me sad that I can't get just whatever/whenever I want. Maybe this grown up thing IS for the birds! :)

My couch-- so far. Not sure about those cushions.

We are looking for this chair. :)
It's adorable! So me..

three
I'm so thankful and blessed by my Lord! He seriously blesses me everyday with something new and exciting. I could never thank him enough for all that he has helped me out with. I truly believe all my blessings come from HIM. I've always heard "ask and you shall receive" but I never knew the true meaning of that precious verse.

Ask and it shall be given to you. Seek and ye shall find. Knock and
the door shall be opened. For everyone who asks receives, and he who
seeks finds, and to him who knocks, it shall be opened.
-- Matthew 7:7 8

God is one great God! :)

Caramel Macchiato

Miscellany Monday!

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
Instead of the usual list of Miscellanies, I am going to post some of my favorite YouTube videos. Enjoy

I don't even love this song, just love me some Miranda Lambert and this is such a tribute! :)

Ole Miss Student Union. I wish I had been a part of this.

Our Baptist Student Union's Transfer Ministry video. Yours truly had so much fun being in this video.

Since when did Rap stars become country? I kind of like it though!

Happy Monday!

Mother/Daughter Time.

Every year our church, Bellevue Baptist, does a Mother/Daughter Banquet and it is one special time for my mother. Being the "leader" of it, she plans the speaker, the theme, and puts lots of hard work into  making it a special day.

This year the theme was "My Mother's Table" and it was decorated with a few of my favorite things. Blue Mason Jars (obessed), old antique cooking tools, and plenty of red and white checkered table cloths.  We had cookbooks, and such sitting around. It was so cute.

We had aprons hung under our windows, seriously! Such a sweet decoration.

My sweet mother and I.  I am crazy about this lady. She does so much for me everyday including loving me unconditionally, gives me money when I'm broke, makes fun of me, helps me with college and school stuff when I have no idea, prays for me daily, and loves my daddy. That right there means the world. :)

A happy family is but an earlier Heaven.
